Oddly enough, last weeks post is AWOL. The topics of the week were 'Change'. However, my students didn't seem to do so well on the project, so I guess a lost week isn't so bad. Nonetheless, this week we will be focusing on friday's Earth Day. I know that many have quite a few comments and responses to this particular day. However, regardless of our religion, faith, or politics we all need to do our part to take care of the place that we live. This, I feel, is a no-brainer. That being said, most of this weeks studio classes will be dedicated to this topic.
RHS art students can-
1st 2D/3D: Students will be asked to create a 'robot' sculpture entirely out of found parts/materials. This robot needs to be as least a foot in height & designed to be free standing
2nd Art I: Students will be asked to create an image of a 'healthy environment'.
3rd AP Art History: Students will continue to review of years material. Focus on Non-western
4th Advanced Art: Students will be asked to create a 'robot' 2D or 3D out of 'found parts/materials'.
5th AP Studio Art: Students will continue finishing their portfolios. Reminder- even if you are not fully submitting to the College Board you are to still have ALL PROJECTS done by April 29th
6th Planning
7th Ceramics: Students have been given their final list projects for the years. Students are to create ---> a bowl (has to be completely functional), a cup (has to be completely functional), & two tiles. All of said ceramic pieces must be fired, glazed, and finished.

Week of of March 7th - 11th
As always, this weeks episode of 'The Art-Room & Beyond' is up and running. Spring is certainly here with all the warm to cool, cool to warm weather that is bothering with our noses. However, with the spring comes a lot of renewal. At present time we have quite a few of students in round two for GSA. Three art students, this past weekend, auditioned. If any of these judges know what good art is, ;) , then all three ladies will get in. If not, it is certainly GSA's loss.
